📖 Main Scripture: Philippians
2:9–11 (NIV)
“Therefore
God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every
name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father.”
🔥 INTRODUCTION
Names carry
meaning, power, and identity.
Throughout Scripture, names were not chosen at random — they revealed character
and destiny.
When God
gave His Son the name JESUS, it wasn’t just another name; it was the
revelation of salvation itself.
The name Jesus means “The Lord saves.”
Every
miracle, every healing, every victory in the Bible is tied to that Name.
And today, that same Name holds authority in heaven, on earth, and even in
hell.
✝️ POINT 1: THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES
REVEALS GOD’S AUTHORITY
📖 Matthew 28:18 – “All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”
Explanation:
The name of Jesus isn’t just a religious phrase — it represents divine authority.
Every government, ruler, power, and demon bows under the authority of Jesus.
When you
speak His name in faith, you are declaring the power of the King of Kings.
Demons tremble, sickness flees, and darkness breaks.
Authority
means the legal right to act, command, or enforce obedience.
When Jesus rose from the dead, all authority — in heaven, on earth, and under
the earth — was handed to Him.
This means
that no sickness, no demon, no problem, and no power stands above Him.
When believers pray in Jesus’ Name, they are invoking this divine
authority.
When you
say, “In Jesus’ Name,” you’re not just closing your prayer — you’re activating
Heaven’s power. You are declaring that you come not in your own strength,
but in the authority of the risen Christ.
Example:
When Peter said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk”
(Acts 3:6), the lame man immediately received strength in his legs.
The power wasn’t in Peter — it was in the Name he carried.
Peter and
John didn’t use medicine or money to heal the lame man. They said,
“In the name
of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6)
And immediately, strength filled the man’s legs.
That same
authority belongs to every believer today!
💬 Lesson:
When you pray in Jesus’ Name, you’re not speaking your words — you’re using
heaven’s authority.
💡 Application:
When you
face fear, speak the Name of Jesus.
When the enemy attacks, call on His Name.
When confusion rises, declare His authority over your situation.
👉 Declaration:
“I walk in the authority of Jesus — the Name above all names!”
“Jesus, You
reign over my life! Your Name has power and authority over everything I face!”
📖 John 14:9 – “Anyone who has
seen Me has seen the Father.”
Explanation:
The name Jesus reflects everything about who God is — His love, mercy,
power, and holiness.
He’s not distant or angry; He’s a Savior who came close to rescue His people.
When you
call on the name of Jesus, you’re calling on the fullness of God’s nature —
Healer, Provider, Deliverer, Redeemer, and Friend.
In the Old
Testament, God revealed Himself through many names:
- Jehovah Jireh – The Lord will provide.
- Jehovah Rapha – The Lord who heals.
- Jehovah Nissi – The Lord our banner.
- Jehovah Shalom – The Lord our peace.
But in the
New Testament, all these names are fulfilled in one — JESUS!
In the
Bible, God revealed Himself through many names to help His people understand
His character.
For example:
- Jehovah Jireh – The Lord my provider.
- Jehovah Rapha – The Lord my healer.
- Jehovah Nissi – The Lord my banner and
victory.
- Jehovah Shalom – The Lord my peace.
But when
Jesus came, all these attributes were fulfilled in one person — JESUS
CHRIST.
He is the
visible image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15).
Everything you need to know about God’s heart, power, mercy, and love is seen
in Jesus.
So, when you
call the Name of Jesus:
- You call the Healer when
you are sick.
- You call the Provider when
you are in need.
- You call the Prince of Peace
when your heart is troubled.
- You call the Redeemer
when you are broken.
There is no
part of God’s nature that is missing in Jesus Christ.
He is the full revelation of God’s goodness.
💬 Lesson:
Every name of God finds its fullness and perfection in Jesus Christ.
👉 Declaration:
“Jesus, You are my everything — my peace, my healer, my provider, my friend and
my Savior!”
🕊️ POINT 3: THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES
BRINGS SALVATION
📖 Acts 4:12 – “There is no
other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Explanation:
Salvation is not found in religion, rituals, or good works — it’s found in a person.
And that person is Jesus Christ.
No matter
who you are or what you’ve done, the name of Jesus still saves today.
He saves the broken, forgives the sinner, restores the lost, and gives hope to
the hopeless.
Salvation
means deliverance from sin, death, and eternal separation from God.
There are many religions and philosophies in the world, but only one Name
carries the power to save — the Name of Jesus.
When we say,
“Jesus saves,” it’s not a slogan — it’s the greatest truth in history.
He saves the sinner, forgives the broken, and restores the lost.
You can’t
earn salvation through good deeds, church attendance, or rituals — only by
believing in the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
Example:
The thief on the cross had no time for good deeds — but when he said, “Jesus,
remember me,” the Savior answered, “Today you will be with Me in paradise.”
That’s the
power of His name — one word, one cry, and eternity changes.
The thief on
the cross didn’t have time to do good works or join a church.
But when he said, “Jesus, remember me,” Christ replied,
“Today, you
will be with Me in paradise.” (Luke 23:42–43)
That’s how
powerful His Name is — one word of faith in Jesus, and eternity changes.
💬 Lesson:
If you call upon the name of Jesus with faith, you’ll find grace, forgiveness,
and eternal life.
💡 Application:
Whenever you
feel unworthy or lost, remember — the name of Jesus still saves today.
You are never too far gone for His mercy.
👉 Declaration:
“Jesus, You are my Savior and my Lord — I am forever Yours!”
“Jesus, I
trust in You. You are my Savior and my Redeemer forever.”
📖 Mark 16:17–18 – “In My name
they will cast out demons... they will lay hands on the sick, and they will
recover.”
Explanation:
The name of Jesus carries supernatural power that breaks chains and
brings freedom.
No sickness, addiction, or spiritual oppression can stand against it.
Throughout
the Gospels, the sick were healed, the blind saw, and the dead rose again — all
in the power of His Name.
That same authority is active today through the Holy Spirit.
When you
pray in faith, heaven moves because of that Name.
Jesus’ Name
carries supernatural power over sickness, bondage, fear, and oppression.
When believers pray in His Name, the spiritual realm responds — demons flee,
chains break, and bodies are healed.
Every
miracle in the Gospels happened through the power of Jesus’ Name.
- Blind eyes opened.
- Lepers were cleansed.
- The dead were raised.
- The possessed were set free.
The same
Name that healed then, heals now.
Example:
When the disciples were sent out, they rejoiced saying,
“Lord, even
the demons submit to us in Your Name!” (Luke 10:17)
💬 Lesson:
The name of Jesus isn’t just to be spoken — it’s to be believed, lived, and
declared with faith.
💡 Application:
The next
time you face sickness, depression, or addiction, don’t give up — speak the
Name of Jesus over it.
There is healing, victory, and deliverance in that Name.
👉 Declaration:
“In the mighty Name of Jesus, I am healed, delivered, set free and made whole!”
🔥 POINT 5: THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES
DEMANDS WORSHIP
📖 Philippians 2:10–11 – “At the
name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord.”
Explanation:
The Name of Jesus is worthy of adoration, reverence, and worship.
In heaven, angels cry “Holy, holy, holy.”
On earth, believers lift their voices in praise.
And even in hell, demons acknowledge His lordship.
Every
nation, language, and generation will one day bow before Him.
What a privilege it is to worship that Name now, before the world even sees His
glory revealed!
There is no
other Name that deserves such glory, honor, and worship as Jesus Christ.
In heaven,
angels cry, “Holy, holy, holy.”
On earth, believers lift their hands and hearts in praise.
And even in hell, the enemies of God acknowledge His supremacy.
The Name of
Jesus unites heaven and earth in worship.
Every language, tribe, and generation will one day bow before Him and confess
that He alone is Lord.
Worship
isn’t just singing — it’s surrendering our hearts, our time, our will, and our
life to Him.
True worship begins when we realize who Jesus really is — the Lamb of God, the
King of Kings, and the Name above all names.
💬 Lesson:
Worship is the believer’s response to the unmatched greatness of the Name of
Jesus.
👉 Declaration:
“Jesus, You are worthy of all glory, all honor, all my praise, my love, and my
life!”
