Come Alive: A Call to Renewed Faith and Hope

Come Alive: A Call to Renewed Faith and Hope

The phrase "Come Alive" resonates deeply with themes of renewal, restoration, and the power of God to breathe life into what seems dead or hopeless. It’s an invitation for believers to step out of spiritual stagnation and embrace the abundant life that Christ offers.

Biblical Foundations of "Come Alive"

The Bible is filled with powerful imagery of God bringing life to dead situations. One of the most striking examples is found in Ezekiel’s vision of the valley of dry bones:

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.” (Ezekiel 37:5)

In this vision, God demonstrates His power to revive not just physical bodies but also the spirit and hope of His people. The dry bones represent despair and hopelessness, but through His Word and Spirit, God breathes new life, causing them to come alive.

What Does It Mean to "Come Alive"?

  1. Renewing Our Faith
To come alive spiritually is to reignite our relationship with God. It means moving beyond routine and religion to experience the joy, peace, and power that come from walking closely with Him. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

  2. Restoring Hope
In moments of despair, it can feel like life has lost its purpose or direction. But God specializes in turning mourning into dancing and ashes into beauty. Coming alive means embracing His promises and allowing Him to restore our hope.

  3. Living with Purpose
When we come alive in Christ, we discover our God-given purpose. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Jesus: The Source of Life

Jesus is central to the message of coming alive. Through His death and resurrection, He conquered sin and death, offering us eternal life.

  • John 11:25: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”
  • Romans 8:11: “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.”

Through faith in Jesus, we are made new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17), empowered to live lives filled with His Spirit.

The Call to Revival

“Come Alive” is also a call to revival, both personally and within the church. It’s a plea for God’s Spirit to awaken us to His presence, His power, and His mission. As individuals and communities come alive in Christ, the world sees His transformative power in action.

Living the "Come Alive" Life

  • Stay Connected to God’s Word: The Word of God is living and active, capable of reviving our souls and guiding us in truth.
  • Pray for Renewal: Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your heart, mind, and spirit daily.
  • Embrace Community: Fellowship with other believers can encourage and inspire us to live vibrant, faith-filled lives.
  • Step Out in Faith: Coming alive often requires us to leave our comfort zones and trust God’s leading.

A Prayer to Come Alive

Lord, breathe new life into my heart and soul. Revive my faith, restore my hope, and renew my purpose in You. Help me to come alive in Your Spirit, living each day with joy, passion, and a heart fully surrendered to You. Amen.

When we accept God’s invitation to come alive, we experience His transforming power and the fullness of life He promises. Let today be the day you step into His life-giving presence and embrace all He has in store for you.
